Chris is a Leadership Coach and Agilist with experience at multiple Fortune 500 companies. He began his career developing software in 2006, and held various roles including as an embedded software developer, project leader, ScrumMaster and engineering manager, but has jumped head-first into coaching since 2018.
Chris has a passion for helping individuals and teams “unleash their awesome” to increase their performance and deliver exceptional results. As an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach, he has focused much of his practice on teams and emerging leaders – those in the early stages of transitioning to a full-time management position – but has had a range of clients from vice presidents and directors, to educators and aspiring entrepreneurs.
In 2020, Chris became a Founding Partner of the Center for Coaching in Organizations – a non-profit group focused on accredited executive coach training, workshops, thought-leadership and resources for coaches and organizational leaders. He leads CCO’s Technology Committee and has taken an active role in planning the Coaching in Organizations Summit and the Executive Coaching in Organizations Coach Training Program. Chris joined CCO’s Board of Directors in July 2021 as Treasurer.
Chris currently holds the Certified Team Coach certification from ScrumAlliance. He works towards continuously improving his own skills by attending local user groups, reading books and blogs from industry experts, listening to podcasts and attending webinars whenever possible. He served as a member of Scrum Alliance’s North American Gathering Team from 2017 – 2020, responsible for planning the program for the Global Scrum Gatherings. Chris is also the co-founder and organizer of Agile Games Twin Cities – a monthly meetup focused on using games to teach Agile concepts and shift mindsets.
Chris enjoys being outdoors, playing games of all types, tinkering on the guitar, cheering for the Packers and, most of all, spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and lives in the Twin Cities.
